The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a man with ties to Macon off the the coast of North Carolina.
He's Patrick "Trey" Topping, the son of Pat Topping at the Macon Chamber of Commerce.
The Coast Guard says an electronic distress signal was sent from the sail boat early Monday morning. The crew was sailing from Saint Thomas in the Caribbean to Maryland. Storms are making the search difficult for rescue crews. 4 people were known to be on board.
